Astro-Dracula

Most audiences like the follow-ups to horror films and eagerly await the next jump scare. What does place when monsters go into space? Five scary villains on a space trip. Others were successful, some weren't.

The Leprechaun

The weakest entry in the Leprechaun horror film series is Leprechaun 4: In Space. The fact that it is set in space is precisely what makes it so mind-numbingly fantastic. A fantastic illustration of how to take a completely ludicrous idea and make it into something really "unique" is in the movie Leprechaun 4. You'll laugh out loud at the movie's realistic effects, inventive killing techniques, and hilarious Leprechaun lines. Leprechaun 4: In Space is a must-see if you like the Leprechaun series or horror flicks in general.

Pinhead

Hellraiser: Bloodline is an intriguing continuation of the series that also acts as a precursor to the events that have come before. The narrative jumps between three distinct eras, beginning in the 1700s and ending in the 2200s. My anticipation for the fourth film in the series was not very high, and if we're being honest, I'm really just here for Pinhead and the other Cenobites. Seeing Doug Bradley live is always a treat because he never loses that chilly, menacing, and demonic air that he exudes throughout his shows. This is illogical and difficult to understand, but who cares about any of those things? Pinhead's moments in Bloodline are so horrific that you should see the movie even if you have watched everything else in the Hellraiser or any of the other works that Clive Barker has created, then you definitely need to check out this one. Even if there isn't a whole lot of logic to it, it's still a great fun ride all the same.

Critters

I must confess that I was curious when I learned that Critters 4 would take place in space. How, after all, could they beat the previous Critters films? The cast list, though, made it seem less promising when I looked at it later. Darren Dourif? Does Angela Bassett? Anders Hove, a well-known actor from Denmark? Simply put, I couldn't see how this could possibly work.

And my worst worries were realized while seeing Critters 4. The plot was poor, the characters were terrible, and the setting was a rip-off of other properties. From a fan's standpoint, what hurts the most is that the elements that made the prior installments distinctive and fun are either totally eliminated or absent. Critters 4 is a terrible disaster and a major letdown.

Dracula

It's almost impossible to watch Dracula Dracula 3000 since it's so awful. I'm against Dracula 3000. Even though it's bad the whole time, I wasn't satisfied with the ending. "Dracula in Space" was awful instead of being as bad as I had anticipated. Although the idea is funny, the performance and discussion are terrible. If you want to be depressed all day, watch it.

Also, Coolio. It stars Coolio. Did I mention that?

Jason Voorhees

The most notorious horror movie sequel to include a villain who travels through space is called Jason X. Jason Voorhees is the actual person behind the story, the myth, and the legend. It makes no difference how he went into space once he was there. Nobody bothers to know why he's out in space. Everything else is irrelevant as long as Jason is out there wreaking havoc somewhere in space.

I think it's fun to watch Jason X for the Easter eggs and references to other Friday the 13th movies, as well as to see how he becomes Uber Jason.

Even though this movie isn't for everyone, it's great for people who like campy, cheesy slasher movies.

Conclusion

Sequels to horror films may be VERY inconsistent. Some follow-up films, such as Leprechaun 4: In Space, take (horror sequels) an absurd idea and make it into something extraordinary. Some of them, like Dracula 3000, are so awful that they're hard to watch. It's absolutely worth seeing some of the more notable horror movie sequels in space if you're a lover of the genre. Who knows, you may discover a new favorite slasher film.
